Middle School Youth Group - 6th, 7th, and 8th graders

Middle school youth group meets on Sundays from 11:30-12:30. Youth advisors work with youth to create a fun and caring environment were youth enjoy being together. Much of middle school youth group involves action, social action projects, drumming, making soup. Occasionally, thought provoking movies are shown, followed up by group discussions.

Three separate months during the year, parent volunteers lead youth in an exploration of a different faith. Classroom learning is combined with witnessing a service from another tradition.

Ninth Grade Programming - Coming of Age

The Coming of Age program helps youth formulate and articulate their faith. We begin with a quick review of the tenets of Unitarian Universalism and then address the BIG questions together. In an atmosphere of acceptance, we strive to create an environment that nurtures personal and spiritual growth. Once completed, youth will participate in a ceremony on June 7.

Senior High Youth Group - 9th through 12th graders
This group meets regularly for discussion, planning social projects, worship, fun and fellowship. Most meetings are on the first and third Sundays of the month, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the parlor of the Fellowship Building. See the church calendar for exact dates.
Senior High Youth group participants are free to discuss anything — religion, politics, sexuality, school, music, poetry, social issues, or whatever is important to them. Emphasis is on the creation of an accepting, supportive community which respects the feelings and needs of individuals. In addition to the goals of fun, learning, worship, and social action, these young people will have an opportunity to develop leadership skills within their group, in the congregation, and in the community.

Our Whole Lives (OWL)

Our Whole Lives is part of the well-respected human sexuality program that has been offered by Unitarian Universalist congregations for over 30 years. We will offer this comprehensive teen sexuality education to our eighth and ninth graders this year.

Youth Adult Committee (YAC)
The Youth Adult Committee, whose members are both interested adults and peer-elected teens, works in partnership with the Director of Religious Education and youth advisors to plan, carry out, and assess the programs, classes, and special events specific to youth in 7th through 12th grades. Committee meetings are on the first Sunday of the month at 1:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Building. Visitors are welcome.
